Founded on 25 April, 2023 by Professor Akin Odebunmi of the Department of English, University of Ibadan, PragmaticPoint (written as a single word), as a study group, has its membership drawn from scholars, students, practitioners and sundry other members of the global community who are interested in the theory and practice of pragmatics. These groups engage the theories and principles of pragmatics not only as instruments for analysing variegated data sets across several communicative domains and gaining entry into the complex social contexts that sire the paradigms but also as tools for interfacing with several disciplinary borders and illuminating the pragmatics-territories in the contexts of pedagogy and mentorship.
