The paper investigated the ways the identities of service providers and the subscribers are framed in MTN and GLO advertisements between 2014 and 2017. It adopted transitivity, in the systemic functional linguistic (SFL) as framework. It identified the framing strategies of service providers’ as welfarists, supremacists and benefactors/beneficiaries, and the subscribers’ identity as consumerists, opportunists, and beneficiaries/benefactors.
